Happy Caterina!

"Work" was really great today!

I finally managed to import our old library (so-called) database into the new programm. Ok, it didn't generate the needed barcodes for the books, i still have to work on that, but at least the most important data was imported.
Hubert, my chef, was really impressed. The Computer expert who worked on that programm last year said it was impossible. But it wasn't. Just a lot of hard work.

But the best part today was, that we could make one of our co-workers happy! Like everyone working in the library she is working for 1,30€/hour, so she doesn't have a lot of money. She's in the middle of a divorce and still searching a new home for her two kids.

Now we have a lot of old computers standing around, waiting for the trash. They're still working, but just too old. So we asked Hubert if she could buy one of them for little money. But he said she could have it for free!!! With a free Monitor!! And a few Minutes later he came back down to us with an old laptop he didn't need anymore and said she could also have it for free!!

You should have seen the big smile on her face!! It was soo great! Of course the computers are very old, but i will do my best to get them working for her. I just ordered her a new adapter for the laptop because it doesn't have one, but i found one on ebay very cheap.
